Slovenian lawmakers will convene on Friday for the first time since the June 3 election, when a total of nine parties secured seats, with the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) of former Prime Minister Janez Jansa wining 26 seats.

President Borut Pahor on Friday scheduled the inaugural session of Slovenia’s newly-elected parliament for June 22, paving the way for the formation of a future government.

As none of the parties won an outright majority in the 90-member assembly, a coalition government has to be formed. Anaysts believe this might take months, as most parties have said they refuse to enter coalition with Jansa over his party’s anti-immigration stance.
