The Rock & Stars music festival held at the unique site of a converted ancient Roman quarry called Cave Romane near the Istrian city of Pula will host a concert of an Israeli indie band Acollective on Thursday, August 2.
The seven-member Tel Aviv-based group known for their energetic stage presence often tours Europe and headlines festivals in their native Israel, enticing audiences with an eclectic mix mix of instruments and genres and featuring elements of everything from boogie-folk, electronic jazz and Middle Eastern blues.
The concert is part of a two-day programme titled Discover Israel which also features photographer Gilad Benari’s exhibition of photographs of the country, Israeli food, and entertainment by Israeli artists.
The Rock & Stars festival will continue on Thursday, August 9, with a performance of the famous all-female Australian-British string quartet Bond, nicknamed Spice Girls of Classical Music, which sold over 4 million albums, and performed at the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony in London.
The final concert of the season is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15, when the Italian group Ricchi e Poveri (“The Rich and the Poor”) will take the stage to perform their famous Italian-language hits which ruled the Mediterranean music scene in the 1980s.
