In June 2018 construction permits drop by 18 pct on the year

A total of 602 building permits were issued in Croatia in June 2018, an 18.2 percent decrease compared to June 2017, the national statistics bureau reported on Tuesday.

The estimated value of works for which the permits were issued was 1.37 billion kuna (€184.4 million), a 33.1 percent less compared to last year.

By type of structure, some 84.6 percent, or 509 permits, were issued for buildings, and 15.4 percent, or 93, for other structures, DZS reported.

In the first six months of 2018, 4,450 building permits were issued, down 3.8 percent from the first half of 2017, while the estimated value of works for which the permits were issued dropped by 15.6 percent to 11 billion kuna (€1.4 billion) from 13 billion kuna (€1.7 billion) in 2017.

During that period, permits were issued for the construction of 5,445 apartments, which is 240 apartments fewer than the same period last year.
