Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will personally engage in increasing the number of countries which will recognise Pristina’s independence, his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci said on Thursday, the FoNet news agency reported.
Following his meeting with Erdoğan, Thaci added that the Turkish President would also help Pristina in its effort to join the international organisations.
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli also took part in the meeting during which the two sides discussed the possibilities of stronger bilateral cooperation in trade and other areas of common interests.
Thaci said he informed Erdoğan about a final phase of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations and added that Turkish President promised support for Kosovo membership to the Interpol, Pristina’s RTK2 reported.
Erdoğan, who has close and warm relations with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, has earlier supported the search for a solution between Belgrade and Pristina.
