Croatia's Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic is travelling to Turkey on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, the Interior Ministry said in a press release.
On the first day of his visit, Bozinovic will be received by Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu.
The two recently held talks on the margins of the UN intergovernmental conference on safe, orderly and regular migration, held in Marrakech, Morocco last December.
Croatia is one of the countries that accept Syrian refugees from Turkey within the EU migrant relocation and resettlement scheme, and on Wednesday, Bozinovic will visit refugee camps in Nizip and Kilis Elbeyli and Kilis Oncupinar.
During the Marrakech conference, Soylu said that Turkey accepted the highest number of refugees in its refugee centres, adding that in 2018 the country prevented illegal crossings by 270,000 irregular migrants.
Bozinovic suggested that the two countries could further boost their cooperation through exchange of information and experience in curbing irregular migrations.
