The City of Zagreb will join the European Social Network (ESN) which works to help improve the planning, provision, financing and evaluation of social services to improve the quality of life for people in local communities across Europe.
The decision was made by a majority vote at a session of the Zagreb City Assembly on Thursday.
The ESN was established 20 years ago, it has the status of a charity organisation and is now based in Brussels.
The ESN is a catalyst for cooperation between public authorities in the field of social services, it brings together more than 130 organisations from more than 35 countries to help them connect with key decision-makers for the purpose of staying in touch with the latest trends in policies and practice, learning from the experience of others and influencing national and international policies.
The annual membership fee is €1,100.
