The American television channel CNN has included Zagreb among the world's 17 best Advent destinations, along with Vienna, Strasbourg, Toronto, Prague, Florence, Krakow, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona, Budapest, Stockholm, New York, Tallinn and Basel.

“This is the result of the charm of our city and its people, its openness, multiethnicity, multiculturalism and multiconfessionalism, its security and hospitality,” Mayor Milan Bandic said in a message on Friday evening, thanking “all fellow citizens, organisers, the City of Zagreb Tourist Board and everyone involved” for their contribution.
