The number of new cases of the coronavirus in Slovenia has continued to fall for three days, however more new cases are being registered in schools and kindergartens, Slovenia's government said on Friday.

In the past 24 hours there were 47 new cases of Covid-19 registered in Slovenia and not one death. In the past two days, 53 and 55 new cases were registered respectively.

The highest increase in new cases (+10) was registered in the capital, Ljubljana, while the other cases were recorded in 28 municipalities around the country.

Most of the new cases are younger patients, less than 24 years old, after the virus entered kindergartens and elementary schools which started this week.

Students in the grades where cases of the infection were identified will remain at home while other students will continue attending school by adhering to epidemiological measures.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Slovenia has registered 3,056 cases of the infection and 134 fatalities.
