Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Monday after a Croatian Democratic Union caucus video meeting that an opposition interpellation the Krs-Padjene wind farm missed the point, and that it in fact refers to 2013 and the then government led by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) caucus meeting was held on Monday ahead of tomorrow’s sitting of the parliament when lawmakers are expected, among other things, to discuss several bills and draft amendments to the budget revision as well as an opposition interpellation related to the Krs-Padjene wind farm project.

Referring to the interpellation on the government’s activities pertaining to the wind farm project, Plenkovic underscored that last week already during a debate on the work of the government, he had said that that entire motion missed the point. He stressed that its essence in fact related to 2013 and the then government led by PM Milanovic.

“It has nothing to do with our government and I believe that it will be rejected,” said Plenkovic.

In that regard, he said that he believes that a decision on tariffs and contracts concluded in 2013 would be discussed, adding that “in that regard that interpellation has the least to do with our government.”

In reference to a meeting of the National Security Council and comments by reporters that President Milanovic said that not even a fly would be able to attend that meeting uninvited and that only members of the council will be able to attend, Plenkovic responded, “What sort of question is that, seeing that I am not sure what the reason for the question is, can you repeat it.”

The reporter reiterated the question saying – “the president mentioned that ministers who are not members of the council will not attend that meeting and is that normal communication with the President’s office? Is that the sort of communication expected at this moment and whether, in his opinion, should other ministers who are not members of the council attend that meeting?”

The Prime Minister said that that was an irrelevant topic, adding that the last time the National Security Council was convened was at the height of the coronavirus epidemic at his proposal and that the only minister who should not have been there according to the law, was Health Minister Vili Beros.
