Finance Minister Zdravko Maric on Monday accepted two draft amendments to the budget, proposed by the opposition Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Maric told the parliament that he would accept the proposal put forward by SDP MP Vesna Nadj for the allocation of 450,000 kuna for peer violence prevention, and explained that the funding would be ensured through the redistribution of the budgetary items for the government, while Nadj had proposed a reduction of funding for the commemoration of the victims killed in Bleiburg in the aftermath of the Second World War.
The IDS proposal for setting aside 10 million kuna for the reconstruction of the police station building in Porec was also sustained by the minister. The necessary funds will be provided through the redistribution of the funds earmarked for the Interior Ministry, while the IDS had initially proposed the reduction of the funds for the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA).
On Monday morning, the parliament started voting on the proposed amendments to the 2021 draft budget.
As many as 331 amendments were put forward, and of them 20 were invalid, Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic said.
The budget will be put to vote on Wednesday.
