Vukovar-Srijem police have arrested a 20-year-old British citizen, who is suspected of disrespecting the Republic of Croatia by setting on fire a Croatian state flag, for which he will be detained in custody for one month.

The police reported on Monday that the 20-year-old British citizen was visiting relatives who live in Vukovar-Srijem County and that at 3 am Saturday morning he burned a Croatian flag hanging outside a residential building.

Criminal charges have been brought against him and a Vukovar County Court judge has sent the accused to month-long detention.
