Croatia's tourist board HTZ unveiled its new campaign on Wednesday which tries to entice so-called digital nomads to work from Croatia, headlined by the motto "Croatia - your new office!". Pročitaj više

A dedicated landing page for the campaign was created in English on the Croatia.hr main website, which contains all the important information related to necessary permits for digital nomads wishing to relocate to Croatia.

In November 2020 Croatia amended its law on foreigners, introducing provisions allowing digital nomads to be granted temporary residence in the country for up to a year.

“Digital nomads are an excellent opportunity for the Croatian economy, and we are pleased to see that digital nomads are showing increased interest for numerous Croatian cities,” Tourism Minister, Nikolina Brnjac, said, adding that she is sure that Croatia would impress digital nomads with its natural scenery and cultural heritage.

“I wish all current and future digital nomads a warm welcome to one of the most desirable and unique European destinations, Croatia,” Brnjac said.

“Croatia is a country where English is widely spoken, a country that offers a unique way of life with authentic experiences, has a good internet connection, favourable climate and beautiful natural surroundings, easy access to the rest of Europe. It is highly affordable compared to the rest of Europe, and offers good and affordable health care,” head of HTZ, Kristjan Stanicic, said.

“This been recognized by foreign media outlets, including the world’s leading brand of travel guides Lonely Planet which dedicated a recent article to the topic of digital nomads and the conditions that foreigners must meet to spend a year in Croatia as digital nomads. Forbes magazine, in its French and American editions, also published an article about our country as a desirable and open destination for digital nomads,” HTZ said.
