Number of workers in industrial sector stable in November

The number of workers in the industrial sector in Croatia in November 2021 grew by 0.1% compared to October while in comparison to November 2020 it was down by 0.3%, show data from the national statistical office (DZS).

According to the monthly statistics, the drop in the number of workers was largest in the manufacture of other transport equipment, 3.4%, followed by the manufacture of leather and related products, 1.1%. The largest increase in the number of workers was reported for the manufacture of tobacco products, 32.8%, and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, 2.8%.

Year-on-year, the number of production workers dropped the most in the manufacture of other transport equipment, 15.3%, and it went up the most in other manufacturing industry, by 7.8%.

Data for the first 11 months of 2021 show that the total number of industrial workers was 0.7% down from the same period of 2020, while labour productivity rose by 6.9%.

Industrial production in November 2021 grew for the 12th consecutive month, by 3.7%, which indicates the continuation of recovery of production and the entire economy from the coronavirus crisis.
