€49m grant agreement on procurement of protective equipment signed

The Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Natasa Tramisak, on Tuesday signed a grant agreement for a project on the protection and preservation of the health system and public health through the procurement of medical and protective equipment in efforts to suppress Covid-19.

The total value of the project is HRK 369 million, which will be entirely covered with funds from the European Structural and Investment Fund, the ministry said in a press release.

The project for the direct grant has resulted due to the needs for urgent intervention in order to support Croatia’s health system in an effort to protect public health during the epidemic.

The project will provide medical and protective equipment for all institutions, organisations and public administration bodies in Croatia responsible for the implementation of activities and measures aimed at reducing the risk of the the pandemic from spreading.

Primarily it will equip hospitals and health institutions, public health institutes, emergency medical institutions, health clinics and, if necessary, welfare institutions, civil protection organisations, the state inspectorate, police and other institutions, organisations and bodies provided that they are part of the system in the fight against Covid-19.
