The Croatian parliament will on Thursday continue its session with a discussion on a draft state budget for 2021, with revenues planned at 147.2 billion kuna (€19.5 billion) and spending at 157.7 billion kuna (€20.8 billion).
Revenues in the 2021 state budget are 12.3% higher than revenues in the revised 2020 state budget, and they amount to HRK 147.26 billion.
In 2021, tax revenues should reach HRK 79.5 billion or 10.4% more than in 2020, while contributions should total HRK 24.6 billion or 8.4% more. Significant growth is also expected in aid, which should increase by 29.4% to nearly HRK 25 billion.
Expenditures will total HRK 157.7 billion, or 1.4% more than this year, so the budget deficit will be HRK 10.66 billion.
Next year, the general government deficit, according to the ESA 2010 methodology, will amount to HRK 11.56 billion or 2.9% of GDP, after this year’s HRK 29.5 billion or 8% of GDP.
The plan is to further reduce the general government deficit to 2.1% in 2022 and to 1.6% in 2023.
