The certificates are required in hospitals, care homes and some other institutions with at-risk groups. Testing will no longer be required in schools, but pupils and teachers have to wear marks, which remain required indoors in all public premises.

There are no more restrictions on gatherings, while distancing, disinfection and ventilation remain in force. Restrictions on shops and hospitality establishments have also been lifted.

In the past 24 hours 2,008 cases, out of 35,000 tests, were confirmed, 259 fewer than yesterday and 1,629 fewer than last Monday, the national public health institute said.

There are 79,662 active cases, 3,515 fewer than last Monday. The seven-day average of new cases has dropped to 4,019 and the 14-day incidence per 100.000 population to 3,776.

Slovenia has fully vaccinated 57.7% of the population.

There are 703 hospitalised COVID patients, including 110 in intensive care, and 19 patients have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 6,203.
