Members of the Croatian national football team have raised more than €100,000 this year through three auctions of their game-worn jerseys, the Croatian Football Federation said on Monday. Pročitaj više

After the Croatian national football team became the first national team in the world to have given their worn jerseys from a competitive match to be sold at an online charity auction in 2019, raising over €30,000, the national team have donated their jerseys six more times since, including three times in 2021.

The auctions were organized to raise funds for the Vatreno Srce (Fiery Heart) Foundation, established and run by national team members and coaches. The Foundation has been helping children and young people for years through cooperation with hospitals across Croatia.

The first auction this year, of jerseys worn in the European Cup Round of 16 match against Spain, raised as much as €48,909, making it the most successful jersey auction yet. Luka Modric’s jersey fetched €16,000 and was the most expensive game-worn jersey since the launch of the auction website.
