The Ministry of the Interior (MUP) said on Friday that despite numerous appeals for citizens to refrain from the use of fireworks, three people were seriously injured by fireworks in the New Year celebrations while two were injured by firearms. Pročitaj više

Fireworks also caused minor damage to two houses in Split and Zagreb while a car and a house were damaged in fires that occurred in the two cities.

MUP reported that in addition to the incidents with fireworks and firearms, a 40-year-old man was charged with violating epidemiological restrictions by organising a New Year’s Eve party.

Apart from these few incidents, New Year’s Eve and Day were fairly peaceful, with fewer offences than usual at this time of year.
