The Croatian parliament on Friday adopted the Electricity Market Act, under which Croatian households will be able to buy electricity from EU suppliers, and EU consumers will be able to choose power providers from Croatia. Pročitaj više

The new law incorporates the European Union’s 2019 directive on common rules for the internal market for electricity.

Providers will have to prepare free of charge tools for comparing the offers of suppliers, including offers for dynamic electricity price contracts. Customers will be informed of the availability of such tools in or together with their bills or by other means.

The law allows end-buyers to change their suppliers at short notice. “Shorter switching times are likely to encourage consumers to search for better energy deals and switch supplier,” reads the directive.
