President Zoran Milanovic on Tuesday visited the Zagreb-based company Nanobit which makes mobile apps and games. According to state agency Hina, Milanovic had "expressed satisfaction with its success."

Nanobit was established 12 years ago by two software developers, Alan Sumina and Zoran Vucinic. In September last year, Swedish Stillfront Group bought a majority stake at this Croatian company. Stillfront had first bought a 78 percent stake for $100 million, and has agreed to buy the remaining 22 percent in two years at a price that will depend on Nanobit’s earnings in the 2021 and 2022.

After visiting Nanobit’s offices, the president said that he was fascinated with everything he had seen and heard from the founders.

“Croatia needs 20 (more) companies like Nanobit to be drivers for others. They are a success,” Milanovic said, according to state agency Hina.

Sumina said that in the last eight months since the acquisition they hired 30 more people, so that currently they have 150. The company is close to registering 200 million downloads of its mobile games, according to Sumina. In 2020, Nanobit’s revenues stood at 410 million kuna, making it is one of the largest Croatian IT exporters.
