The United Group has expanded to include the Tele2 Croatia, a press release said on Thursday.
The successful telecommunications company has become part of the large United Group family as part of an investment of 220 million Euro and will get support and further investments to gain an even greater potential and continue the business growth trend in Croatia.
“The acquisition of Tele2 Croatia is an important step for all of us in further strengthening the position of leading telecommunication and media operator in southeastern Europe. We believe that further investments by the United Group on the Croatian market will bring added benefits to users who have already shown that they trust Tele 2 and attract new users with the quality of the network, attractive offer and excellent services,” United Group CEO Victoriya Boklag said.
Boklag said that the United Group will continue expanding in the countries of the European Union and will win new markets, citing the example of the agreed purchase of Vivacom, the biggest telecommunications operator in Bulgaria.
“Over the past 15 years, Tele2 Croatia has grown into a respectable and successful company thanks to the energy, engagement, expertise and hard work of its employees and we reached one million users for the first time in 2019 and ended the year with an income of more than 200 million Euro. I am convinced that our accession to United Group will allow not just the continuing of positive trends over the past few years but will give us added impetus to become an even stronger and more ambitious player on the market. Our focus is and always will be on our users and we will continue to follow their needs to take the next step and offer them even greater value for their money,”Tele2 Croatia Chairman Viktor Pavlinic said.
The United Group has made acquisition of more than 100 companies over the 20 years that it has operated. It sets aside significant funds to develop infrastructure, technology and the media every year. Last year alone, it invested 150 million Euro into land-line and mobile phone networks and the same into TV content, including 64 million into its own production.
United Group includes N1 TV.
