Although the number of new coronavirus cases in Slovenia is on the decline, infectious disease specialists are warning that the situation is not stable yet and restrictions should remain in force.

Of 554 tests done on Sunday, seven were positive, the government said on its Twitter account on Monday.

A total of 1,212 people in Slovenia are infected with the virus, 55 have died to date and 152 have recovered from the disease.

The number of infections on a daily basis has been falling in recent days, compared with over 20 a day at the start of April, which suggests that the epidemic is letting up.

However, epidemiologists are warning that the situation is not stable yet and that restrictions in the economic sector, social distancing rules and the ban on leaving one’s place of residence except when going to work or in other emergencies, should remain in force.
