Cikotic said that they discussed “all major forms of cooperation” between the two countries, “especially focusing on the issue of illegal migrations.”

Keller-Sutter said that they talked about “the very privileged and very good relationship between Bosnia and Switzerland,” especially concerning “cooperation in the fields of migration and police.”

“Bosnia and Herzegovina is an important transit country. The role of Bosnia is very important when it comes to preventing illegal migration. Switzerland greatly appreciates the work of Bosnia in this area, and we also appreciate the efforts of the country’s Ministry of Security,” Keller-Sutter said, without elaborating further.

Cikotic noted that they agreed to “step up efforts” on migration management, but also on border control, processing of illegal migrants, as well as the fight against organized crime.
