The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zoran Milanovic, said on Friday that the incident in the Uzdolje cafe near Knin when the owner and guests were attacked also contained elements of terrorism, as this was an act of intimidation, not only physical violence.

Five people, including a 9-year-old boy, suffered light injuries and material damage was caused to the Uzdolje cafe in the incident when masked thugs assaulted people who were watching a TV broadcast of the Belgrade-based Crvena Zvezda club on Wednesday night. The police have arrested several suspects in connection to this incident and the investigation is underway.

Milanovic also told the press that the current president did not know the Constitution as she could only ask for the information about the case from the Interior Minister rather than asking for a detailed investigation.

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said earlier Friday that she condemned every violence, and explained that she would comment on the August 21 incidents in Knin when she was provided with the relevant police report on the case.

“I condemn every violence, and I am going to comment on that (Knin incident), when I receive a detailed police report,” the president said in a brief address to the press.

Milanovic called on the president Grabar-Kitarovic to assume “human and political risk” and give her statement on that traumatic situation.
