Health Minister Milan Kujundzic said after a cabinet meeting on Friday that voters from the City of Zagreb would play a key role in the presidential election's second round on Sunday, adding that this will be a cliffhanger presidential election runoff between Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Zoran Milanovic.

“The City of Zagreb will play a very important role, because it equals to one fourth of Croatia, and if we include the whole Zagreb County, it sums up to almost 30 percent of the population. I am no forecaster, and I think the winner is extremely hard to predict,” said Kujundzic.

He thinks that election results could be impacted by the absence of Croatian voters currently on skiing holidays abroad, since “all of them could have chosen their candidate”, and that the influence of Croatian diaspora on the election results is open to discussion.

“That is a topic for debate. Many countries in the world gave their diaspora the vote, just like Croatia, while others did not. That is something we should talk about in a democratic system. Nothing is written in stone,” said Kujundzic.

As to medical services in 2020, he said that a stable system available to everyone was the goal, pointing out the importance of following world trends in medical science.
