A 35-year-old man has been indicted by the Osijek county prosecutor's office on the suspicion that he made threats on social networks against Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, the prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.

Without naming the state official who was the target of the threats, prosecutorial authorities said the suspect was charged with making threats on a social network on several occasions against a state official whose policy he was unhappy with, with the intent of intimidating him.

The indictment says that due to the risk of the crime being repeated, prosecutorial authorities recommend extending police custody for the suspect who has been in detention since his arrest on November 19.
