N1 learned Thursday that first doses of Covid-19 vaccine could arrive in Bosnia by as early as January 18, which goes in hand with World Health Organization (WHO) immunization director Kate O’Brien's statement that COVAX facility could soon deliver the vaccine to lower-income countries, as reported by Reuters.

According to N1’s sources, the COVAX mechanism will first deliver Pfizer’s vaccines, after which the country will receive Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine.

The sources added that the delivery is expected between January 18 and February 10, 2021.

WHO’s Kate O’Brien said the mechanism already had $6 of the needed $7 billion to deliver all the doses to lower-income countries by the end of this year.

Currently, COAX has access to over 2 billion doses whose delivery will start by mid-February the latest, she said.
