Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Tuesday that by banging on the parliamentary benches the opposition "fully unmasked themselves" and "buried themselves in a political grave" while showing disrespect to the parliament, the government and the citizens.

“Today we saw a demonstration of the method of work of the political opposition, which will remain the political opposition for a long time to come,” Plenkovic said in his closing address after several hours of discussion on the annual report on the government’s work, which he held only in front of the deputies of his HDZ party because the opposition had already walked out of the parliament chamber.

“Today, they dug a political grave for themselves the size of a football pitch and fell into it. With this kind of behaviour, they buried themselves in this political grave,” the prime minister stressed.

Plenkovic believes that the opposition “fully unmasked themselves” this morning, because no one in parliament has done this type of destruction before. He also claimed that they thus undermined the dignity of the Croatian Parliament and showed disrespect to the government, the public and the citizens.
