Slovenia has logged 3,731 new COVID cases in the past 24 hours, which is 40 fewer than the day before and more than 7,000 fewer than seven days ago with the epidemiological situation continuing to improve, the government said on Saturday.

There are currently 84,411 active cases in the country and the 7-day daily average of confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants is 4,552 while the 14-day incidence rate has fallen to 4,192 cases, Slovenia’s public health institute reported.

Hospitalisation numbers have decreased slightly to 689, and 109 patients were in intensive care on Friday.

Ten more COVID patients have died in the last 24 hours.

Prime Minister Janez Janša tweeted late Friday night that epidemiological measures could be relaxed “in the next few days,” depending on recommendations by epidemiologists.
