The police in the Istrian city of Pula have arrested a 61-year-old woman who sent text messages containing death threats against members of the national COVID-19 crisis management team and the prime minister, Istria County police said on Friday, adding that a judge set 30-day detention for her.
The police found that the woman sent a threatening text on November 17 to one member of the national COVID crisis team. The text contained a serious death threat to team members, as well as Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, which prompted the police to open an investigation.
They found this was not the only text the woman had sent, but that, frustrated by the restrictions introduced by the crisis team in order to stem the spread of the pandemic, she sent three other texts in the period from October 1 to November 5.
