March 2018 industry employees down 0.9 percent year-on-year

The number of industrial workers in Croatia in March 2018 inched up 0.1 percent from February, and fell by 0.9 percent compared to the same month the year before, according to data from the state statistics bureau released on Wednesday.

By sector, the manufacturing of intermediary products had a 0.4 percent increase of employees month-on-month, or 2.5 percent compared to March 2017. The largest month-on-month drop in employees was in energy production, by 9.4 percent.

The overall labour productivity in Q1 2018 increased by 1.3 percent compared to the same period the year before. By sector, labour productivity in the processing industry was up 0.9 percent, in power and gas supply up by 10.3 percent, and in the mining industry down by 8 percent.
