January-July 2018 motorway revenues up 8 pct from 2017

Over the last weekend, on July 6-8, motorways managed by state-owned companies HAC and ARZ had had slightly less traffic compared to the corresponding weekend last year, with toll revenue also inching down to total 40.2 million kuna (€5.4 million), HAC said on Monday.

Since the beginning of the year, until July 8, around 26.7 million vehicles passed through Croatian motorways, with total toll revenue amounting to 1.26 billion kuna (€170.2 million).

Compared to the same period last year, traffic increased by 5.3 percent, with revenues 8 percent up.

The Istrian Y motorway complex in the western county of Istria bordering with Slovenia had a 2.7 percent more traffic this weekend compared to the same weekend last year, with almost 143,000 vehicles recorded.

In addition, the 60-kilometre Zagreb-Macelj motorway, which connects western outskirts of Zagreb with the Slovenian border, said that 99,000 vehicles passed through over the weekend, which is 7.9 percent up from last year’s comparable weekend.
