Croatia's goods trade deficit widens to €9.1 billion in 2018

Croatia's exports of goods in 2018 totalled €14.5 billion, or up 3.4 percent year-on-year, while imports went up by 8 percent to €23.6 billion, the state statistics bureau said on Thursday.

This means that the foreign trade deficit was €9.1 billion, increasing from 2017 when it amounted to €7.8 billion.

In the same period, exports to other EU countries totalled €9.9 billion, up by 9.4 percent from 2017, while exports to non-EU countries dropped by 7.6 percent to €4.5 billion.

Imports from other EU countries went up 7.9 percent to €18.4 billion, while imports from non-EU countries rose by 8.3 percent to €5.2 billion.
