North Macedonian Parliament’s Committee unanimously accepted the suggestion for the dismissal of Katica Janeva, a special prosecutor, suspected of being involved in the “Extortion” scandal, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.

The Committee session was held behind closed doors and the Committee’s Chairman Ilija Dimovski, himself a suspect in another case, informed reporters about the vote.

The official suggestion for Janeva’s dismissal said she was “unprofessional and conscienceless.”

The Parliament will vote on the suggestion, and if it wins the two-third majority, it will send the decision back to the Prosecutors’ Council which started the procedure against Janeva who had been in custody since August 21 under suspicion of involvement in organised crime related to the “Extortion” affair.
