The OTP Bank Group, one of the largest independent financial services providers in Central and Eastern Europe, said on its website it closed the deal on acquiring French multinational Societe Generale's Serbian subsidiary, which will be renamed OTP Bank Serbia.

“The merger with the Vojvodjanska Banka, the member of the OTP Group, is planned for 2021. Until then, the two banks would work as separate legal entities, but as of now, the clients of both banks will be able to use over 300 ATMs in Serbia without commission on debit cards,” the website said.

Nicknamed “SocGen”, the bank is a French multinational investment bank and financial services company headquartered in Paris.
