Serbia's Covid-19 death toll increases to 151, 296 new patients confirmed

Another seven patients died in Serbia over the past 24 hours as a result of the new coronavirus infection, bringing the country's death toll to 151, the healthcare authorities said in a daily press conference on Saturday.

Three of those patients were women and four were men, said Zoran Gojkovic, regional health secretary.

According to Darija Kisic-Tepavcevic, a senior official of the Batut Public Health Institute, of seven confirmed fatalities four were tenants of the Gerontological Centre in Nis.

Of the total of 5,051 tested persons, 296 were positive to the coronavirus, which brings the tally in Serbia to 7,779 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The total of 3,135 patients are hospitalised and 91 are connected to ventilators.

To date, 1,152 patients have recovered in Serbia.
