Health Minister Vili Beros said on Monday people from earthquake-hit areas, due to the damage to the hospital in Sisak, would receive healthcare in one of the closest hospitals as well as be exempt from co-payment.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Beros said the transfer of emergency patients to hospitals in Zagreb would be coordinated by the Health Ministry.
He added that parts of the Sisak hospital, including the COVID ward, were being restored for use.
Beros said COVID vaccination in Sisak-Moslavina County was continuing among people in collective accommodation and emergency workers. On Saturday, 738 people were vaccinated and the plan is to vaccinate 1,110 this week and another 1,600 in the next two weeks.
The minister said rapid antigen testing was being stepped up and that a sample-taking point was being opened in Sisak.
He spoke of damage to health centres and hospitals in the quake-affected areas, saying that 90% of Sisak’s Dr Ivo Pedisic Hospital was damaged.
