According to Worldometer, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the country with the second-highest number of COVID-19 fatalities per one million inhabitants in the world, only surpassed by Hungary.
A total of 9,150 COVID-19 patients have passed away in Bosnia since the beginning of the pandemic.
The country has registered 203,391 coronavirus cases since February last year.
According to ‘Our World in Data’, Bosnia has 5,53 deaths per one million inhabitants on average, while in March this number even reached 23,64.
Authorities in BiH have still not managed to secure a sufficient number of vaccines against COVID-19 to ensure the mass immunisation of the population, but the number of newly confirmed infections has nevertheless drastically decreased in the past two weeks.
The death rate is, however, still high.
