A total of 488 people tested positive for the coronavirus and 48 COVID-19 patients passed away in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours, while 481 people recovered, healthcare authorities reported on Thursday.

In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 279 of the 2,389 people tested were positive for the virus and 35 died from the disease.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 182 of 654 people tested since Wednesday were positive for the virus and 12 COVID-19 died.

Bosnia’s Brcko District registered 27 new infections and one fatality related to the disease.

A total of 197,866 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of the pandemic and 158,641 of them have recovered so far.

The COVID-19 death toll is 8,512.

There are currently 30,713 active coronavirus cases in the country.
