The Government of Sarajevo Canton decided on Friday it will relax some of the epidemic measures that were introduced three weeks ago amid a surge in new coronavirus cases in the capital.

As of Monday, bars and restaurants will open their outdoor areas for guests with a maximum of four people allowed at one table.

The Government also allowed the reopening of fitness centres and gyms but only for individual training sessions with no more than 20 people allowed inside. The same applies to wellness and spa centres, while public pools will remain closed except for professionals para-swimming athletes.

Remote classes for all students, except practical exercises and exams at high education institutions, remain until further notice.

Over the last few days, Sarajevo has seen a slight decrease in new coronavirus cases, with the latest update on Friday showing 186 new cases and 360 those who recovered from COVID.
