The Rijeka City utility company Autotrolej has procured 32 new buses that were financed from the European Cohesion Fund and ten of the buses were officially presented in the city's promenade on Tuesday.
The new buses run on pressurised natural gas and can take up to 76 passengers and are valued at 21 million kuna.
The procurement of the buses was covered with funds from the Cohesion Fund through the Competitiveness and Cohesion operational programme for integral territorial investments for the Rijeka urban agglomeration.
The total value of those 32 buses is 81 million kuna, of which 54.5 million kuna will be funded through European grants.
This is the continuation of the process of modernising Autotrolej’s vehicle park which was provided with 22 new buses last year. Then 38 million kuna was secured in grants from the EU Cohesion Fund through the No regret project.
Autotrolej has been supplied with 54 new buses in the past two years through that project.
