Coronavirus: Bosnia reports nearly 2,000 new cases, 77 deaths

A total of 1,965 new coronavirus infections were confirmed and 77 Covid-19 patients passed away in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities reported on Thursday.

In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 1,358 of the 4,221 people tested since Wednesday were positive for the virus and 49 patients died due to the disease, however healthcare authorities said these results are incomplete.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 1,290 samples were tested and the results for 521 people were positive, while 25 Covid-19 deaths were registered.

Bosnia’s Brcko District also reported 86 new infections and three Covid-19 fatalities.

A total of 160,163 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the pandemic and 127,799 of them have recovered so far.

Bosnia’s Covid-19 death toll is 6,144.

There are currently 26,220 active coronavirus cases in the country.
