Coronavirus: Serbian authorities to allow summer festivals

The United Festivals of Serbia organization said it had received approval to organize festivals this summer from the government pandemic crisis team.

A press release from the organisation said that the public will have to provide proof of vaccination, a negative PCR test. or proof that they have anti-bodies after recovering from COVID. It said that that Safe Events Serbia security protocol is based on what countries across Europe have been doing.

The Arsenal and EXIT festivals got permission for their events in June and July and the Lovefest, Beer Fest, and Nisville are expected to get permission for their events in August.

United Festivals of Serbia said it had launched a campaign with the support of the government, Health Ministry and the city authorities in Belgrade and Novi Sad calling young people to get vaccinated. It said that 64 percent of the people who bought tickets for festival events had been vaccinated and another 8 percent had anti-bodies.

It said that the 20th anniversary of the EXIT Festival would be marked from June 8 to 11 on the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad adding that a number of performers have confirmed their arrival including David Guetta, DJ Snake, Sabaton, Nina Kraviz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Tyga, Solomun, Amelie Lens, Maceo Plex, Denis Sulta, DJ Topic, Robin Schulz, Asaf Avidan, Satori, Boris Brejcha, Honey Dijon, Hot Since 82, Meduza, Paul van Dyk, Artbat, Sheck Wes, Laibach, and others.
