A convoy of humanitarian aid with about 30 tonnes of donated products, organised by the Croatian honorary consul to Italy, surgeon Nela Srsen, arrived in the earthquake-hit Banovina region on Friday evening.

The Italian convoy first arrived in Petrinja, from where it went to Glina and nearby places. In cooperation with the Croatian government and Ministry of the Interior, it will on Saturday carry aid to the migrant camp Lipa near Bihac, in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The solidarity convoy, organised in cooperation with an Italian NGO called “Volontariato Energia & Sorrisi Onlus”, includes ten vehicles with donations from entrepreneurs from Padua, Verona, Modena, Treviso and other places.

Srsen said they had also brought several caravans.

The donation consists of several tonnes of warm clothes and footwear, bedding, several hundreds of family packages of durable food products, hygiene products, masks and other products.
