Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic on Saturday issued separate messages offering their best wishes to the Jewish faithful on the occasion of Passover.

“I offer my most heartfelt wishes to all Jewish faithful for Pesach. May you have a happy Pesach, filled with peace and well-being,” the PM said in his message.

This great and oldest Jewish holiday, which commemorates liberation from slavery in Egypt, reminds us that freedom is a universal value which we all share, said Plenkovic.

“May the spirit of Pesach inspire us over and over again to even stronger mutual understanding and respect, notably in the current time of challenges and trials. Chag Pesach Sameach!,” Plenkovic said in his message.

“May the holiday of Pesach, which symbolises the noble values of freedom, peace, faith and courage and which has a special meaning for the Jewish people, bring you and your families and dearest ones an abundance of well-being and joy in the current times, challenging for all,” Jandrokovic said in his message.
