The government on Monday expanded its Covid-19 loan scheme to include micro, small and medium businesses which in 2020 saw a drop of 20% or more in revenues compared to 2019 and which operate in Category 1 government-assisted areas, including Sisak-Moslavina County.
The government’s conclusion on expanding the scheme to provide working capital for micro, small and medium businesses will make it possible for those businesses, primarily in the quake-hit Sisak-Moslavina County, to maintain liquidity, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Tomislav Coric said.
The Category 1 government-assisted units of local and regional government in the country are Sisak-Moslavina, Brod-Posavina, Bjelovar-Bilogora, Lika-Senj, Vukovar-Srijem and Virovitica-Podravina counties.
Gov’t subsidies for transport sector prolonged, expanded
The government also amended a government subsidy scheme for the sea, transport and transport infrastructure sector and related services in the current coronavirus pandemic.
Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic said that the scheme would be prolonged until June 30 and that its budget would be increased from the initial HRK 600 million to one billion and that the scheme would be expanded to include two more services – taxi service and car leasing.
The support under this scheme to businesses in the transport sector that have experienced a lack of liquidity is granted in the form of government guarantees for new liquidity loans, the minister said, recalling that the European Commission approved amendment of the scheme on 18 December.
