Health Minister Vili Beros said on Thursday afternoon that this was the second worst day since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic in terms of new cases and deaths.
In the past 24 hours Croatia registered 7,270 new COVID-19 cases and 63 deaths, the national COVID response team reported on Thursday morning.
“Sixty three of our fellow citizens are dead. These are high numbers and also a warning that the virus is here,” Beros said while attending the commemorative events in Skabrnja.
The minister emphasised the importance of testing and compliance with anti-epidemic rules.
Yesterday, nearly 25,000 rapid antigen tests were performed and they detected nearly 500 positive cases. This proves the importance of these measures,” he said.
