Members of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) based in the earthquake-devastated Banovina region will be exempt from paying the membership fee from 1 January to 31 March 2021, the HGK decided on Wednesday.
“Revitalisation of the economy of Banovina is key for people to stay in that area. The HGK has been on the ground since day one, helping all its members and coordinating their needs with state institutions. This decision is yet another step towards a speedier recovery of companies in the area,” HGK president Luka Burilović said.
Companies whose operations were limited by restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak were also exempt from paying the membership fee.
About 1,250 companies, employing about 8,800 workers, operate in the earthquake-hit area of Sisak-Moslavina County.
