The Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) on Wednesday made additional proposals to the government to ensure a speedy recovery of businesses based in the earthquake-hit areas of central Croatia.
The HGK proposed a postponement of the deadline for submission of annual financial statements, a moratorium on obligations in pre-bankruptcy settlement cases, an urgent allocation of funds for liquidity, a moratorium on leasing and administrative fees, and lower electricity prices for manufacturing companies.
The HGK said that the focus should be on reconstruction of transport infrastructure, introduction of special bus and railway services, co-financing of public transport, and designation of locations for freight terminals.
It also suggested reconstruction of the telecommunications network, increasing access to broadband internet, and speeding up purchases of computer equipment for businesses.
In order to prevent new damage, it is necessary to systematically analyse the seismic resilience of all structures, the HGK said.
The HGK proposed its first set of aid measures last week.
