The Serb Orthodox Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana Porfirije extended best wishes to the faithful who celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar on January 7, noting that only together can we overcome the problems ahead of us.

The Christmas message issued by Metropolitan Porfirije was carried by the state television HRT.

He said that the troubles we were going through gave us a chance to understand that we were one and that we had to be together as neither the pandemic nor the earthquake divided people into categories but attacked whoever they wanted.

He said that only with solidarity and togetherness could we overcome the problems ahead of us.
